I want to connect my computer in my store to Speakers in Drop Ceiling to play music in a retail store.
What kind of speaks should l get? Is there a way to connect the
speakers to a jack and just stick it in the computer?
Your computer is sound card is line level out, which is not
enough to drive a speaker. Laptops contain a small audio amplifier to
drive the speakers, & desktop units usually drive powered speakers
(amplifier/speakers all in one). So you need to feed ur computer is sound
output to an external amplifier which, in turn, would then feed the ceiling
speakers.
There are also a great many considerations for distributing audio through a ceiling speaker configuration, many more than can be discussed in this short space. You should do an online search for ceiling mount speaker installation.
there are a number of ways, but be aware there are copyright
payments required when music is played in a commercial establishment. some
small stores get an exemption for playing music out of a portable 'boombox'
radio like device, but the use of multiple speakers is not covered by the
exemption. the cheapest source of retail store music is from satellite
providers as they include the performance royalty in the monthly fee, &
the supplied receiver is adequate for most small installations.
